        Barbara and Bart Smith

Barbara and Bart Smith

Barbara and Bart Smith are originally from Broadway, Virginia. They come to us from Zephyrhills, FL where they lived in a resident owned park for the past three years. They wanted to move closer to Barbara's sister who lives in Heartland Estates so they looked around the area and decided that Plantation Landings and especially 280 Dixie Circle was the place they wanted to be. The Smith's were familiar with Haines City because they had camped here in the past.

Bart retired from the Marine Corps in 1973 after 20 years of service.  He then worked for Reynolds Metal Co. in Richmond VA for 23 years. He enjoys watching Nascar and western movies. They both enjoy traveling in their motor home. They spent many winters in Texas until the gas prices went too high. They both love to attend Blue Grass Festivals, especially in VA.  Their favorite band is "Nothin' Fancy".

Barbara told me that they met in Richmond VA in July of 1975 and were married in Dec. that year. Barbara was a hair dresser for 30 years in Richmond. She enjoys crafts, decorating, walking and riding her bike. They have owned antique cars in the past and enjoy going to antique car shows.

Bart was born in West Virgina and found out that he has a lot in common with his new neighbors, Bernard and Ida Mae Adkins who are also from West VA.

Please be sure to extend a hearty welcome to this very  lovely couple whenever you see them out and about the park.  They may be reached on their cell phone - 540-303-1569.

              Jim and Janice Zbur

Jim and Janice Zbur

Jim and Janice Zbur are our new permanent residents at 304 Maple Crest Dr.  They previously lived in Marion Ctr., PA. The Zbur's are familiar with P.L. because they have been here numerous times to visit Janice's mother, Bernadine Buell at 253 Dixie Circle and also Janice's sister, Darlene Clements at 247 Dixie Circle.  They are also close friends of the Steyers who were neighbors in PA.

Jim worked in the coal mines in Elberton, PA for 24 years.  He also did maintenance work for local banks both at the banks and at homes that had been re-posessed. His hobbies are hunting, fixing and remodeling, gardening and yard work.  Both Jim and Janice are avid Pittsburgh Steeler fans.

Janice graduated from Indiana University of Pennslyvania with a batchelors degree in Criminology.  She has worked with delinquent independent teenagers.  Some were hard core criminals.  She was a supervisor in a day treatment center working with kids that were causing problems in schools. She has been a Mental Health and also a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.

Janice loves to be outside and wants to plant lots of flowers.  She is looking forward to spending time at the pool but most of all she will enjoy being close to her mother and sister.  Between them,  the Zbur's have seven children and 6 grandchildren. Their cute  little dog is named Ziggy.

Janice said they chose #304 because it was backed up to a wooded area and gives her a little country feeling. The Zburs formerly lived in the country in PA. Jim and Janice may be reached on their cell phones at 724-549-4584 (Jim) and 724-549-4583 (Janice).  Please give them a warm welcome.
