Bocce
By: Bob Cumiskey
The 2012 bocce season has ended and after a three game playoff, the Piranhas are park champions. The Wild Pack won the first game, but Piranhas came back to win the next two. All three games were exciting, both
teams
played
well and the large crowd watching the games appreciated the great shots thrown by each team. Piranhas team is: Barb Schutte, Jeanette Seale, Bob Golisek and Dale McFarlane. Wild Pack
players
are Mary Jean
and Jan Ludwig and Patti and Ray Van Horn. Third place in the park playoffs went to the Hot Shots: Shirley and Roy Heaton and
Jeanette and Richard
Moats.
Fourth
place
went
to
the
Hyde
and
Seek team: Marge and Ron
Hyde and Betty and Dick Taylor. Ray and I want to thank our assistants, Chuck Given on
Thursday and Irv Johnson on Saturday. We also
must thank our wives for
their patience and especially
all the players for another fine season.
Watch for information on the fall
season, which will probably begin in October.
More on that
later in the summer.
Shuffleboard
By: Charles Weirauch
The playoffs came to a conclusion Wed.21: Shirley and Gordon Davis were the
Park Champions. Gary Militello and Larry Terris finished
in 2nd place,
3rd place went to Thelma and Paul Ottenwess and Gloria and Dave Blamer finished 4th. Following the playoffs the luncheon was served in the clubhouse. About 87 people were in
attendance. The awards were presented to the players. Roy Heaton was recog- nized with a plaque for his 16 years of service as shuffleboard coordinator. Pattie and Ray Van Horn
and their crew did a great job preparing and serving the luncheon.
First for an update: The team of Carol Martensen and Barb Clark have filled the slot in Div
II Wed. 10:30 am. In the
same Div we still need a team for Wed. 9 am. My wife and I will be heading home to Maryland on May 3. Debbie Williams has volunteered to help
me communicate with players that
are permanent residents and keep the bulletin board in the game room updated. Those players that are snowbirds do
not contact Debbie, instead contact me in Maryland at 410-679-0282,
cell 410-458-5697, 410-929-9899 or email me at
caweirauchj@comcast.net .
Between now and until next season starts, I know things in our lives can change in a short period of time. We hope by improving the line of communications between each of us it will help each team get ready before the season begins.
My wife and I hope you
have a great summer and hope to see everyone next year.

The 2012 season came to an
end on 3-30-12. All had a great year. The
race for both flights came down to the last two weeks. A Flight winners were
Ray Pickering and Larry Terris. B Flight winners were Paul Ottenwess and Don McIntee.
Both winners played for the League chamionship, with Ray and Larry coming out on top.
The rest of the golfers played a three man scramble and Gary Militello, Bob Golisek and Tom Dunphy were one under for
the win. Don McIntee is leaving and we will miss him. God bless Don.
The Can/AM was held on
March 18, 2012 and a great time was had by all. The Americans won over the Canadians
with a score of 105 to 117. Good golfers were on both sides. Marion Dunphy and Don Burson worked together on this event.
